Global Initiative against Transnational Organised Crime

The Global Initiative Against Transnational Organized Crime is an international Non Profit Organization, that has its headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. It was established with funding and operational support from the Government of Norway and the Government of Switzerland.

The Global Initiative endeavours to provide:

  • catalytic research that identifies and elucidates current trends;
  • a safe space for facilitated debate between policymakers, practitioners and relevant experts;
  • a series of tools for analysis and programming around which innovative, holistic responses can be designed.

 It is a network of law enforcement, governance and development practitioners who are dedicated to seeking new and innovative strategies to end organised crime.

"The GRGP has joined with the Global Initiative and the Centre of Criminology, UCT, to  establish the Environmental Security Observatory (ESO).
