Ghent Universiity's research group ‘Governing and Policing Security’ (GaPS), is located in the Department of Management, Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the Faculty of Economy and Business Administration. GaPs applies a governance and management approach to a range of local, national and international problems related to policing and security.
The GRGP's programme, Ports of Call: Understanding Transnational Security Networks , is undertaken together with Prof. Marleen Easton, Director of GaPs. This project aims to fill a gap in current research on transnational security networks. It will examine the role played by private security providers and the networked security arrangements in the ports of Antwerp and Brisbane. The project is supported by a Flanders Research Foundation Grant.
