Project 90 By 2030

The name Project 90 By 2030 reflects the organisation's aim as outlined on their website which is  to:

- have a 90 percent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by the year 2030 in order to avoid “catastrophic effects on both humans and ecosystems”.

- bring about significant (90%) change by South Africans in how we engage with earth systems. Specifically, to fundamentally change how South Africans access and use resources (such as energy), and contribute to a low-carbon society.

The Global Risk Governance Programme's Environmental Entrepreneurs Support Initiative (EESI) project supports two young leaders from Project 90 By 2030.  EESI supports young leaders, of exceptional ability, who are already realising outcomes that advance environmental sustainability and who are at a point in their careers where they will benefit from support that enhances their leadership capacities.
